Creative MakeHer Space

A space to create, connect, and reimagine what’s possible - now funded by The National Lottery!

We’re developing a creative, inclusive Maker Space for women in Midlothian - a welcoming place to make, repair, upcycle, and reuse, while building skills, confidence, and community connection.

Our MakerHer Space is a hub where creativity meets sustainability, and where people feel supported to bring ideas to life.

The MakeHer Space offers community-led creative sessions and shared learning opportunities. Our focus is on skill sharing - learning from and supporting one another in an open, welcoming environment. Activities may include:

Upcycling and giving new life to materials
Repairing and restoring items to reduce waste
Reusing and reimagining resources sustainably
Designing and creating a product from concept to completion
Skill sharing in areas such as DIY, carpentry, textiles, interior design, and digital design

All sessions will be co-designed with participants, ensuring the programme reflects local interests, creativity, and community spirit.

Monthly Group Meet-up

We host a monthly accountability group based in Dalkeith, welcoming people from across Midlothian, Edinburgh, and East Lothian.

The group meets once a month to share goals, motivate and inspire each other, and stay focused on moving forward together. It’s a supportive space for people who understand the realities and challenges of everyday life and seek encouragement, guidance, and accountability as they work towards what matters to them.

Whether you’re working on personal goals, career progression, professional development, learning, or simply want to feel more supported and connected, this group offers community, encouragement, and practical support - without pressure or judgement.

The group is free to attend.

EmpwrU is our upcoming digital personal development, goal setting platform, currently in development and shaped by listening closely to the women we work with. Designed to be accessible, flexible, and easy to use, EmpwrU allows people to engage in ways that fit around their lives, routines, and responsibilities - anytime, anywhere.

The app supports individuals through a guided journey, with wellbeing at its foundation. The platform helps users reconnect with themselves, gain clarity about what they want for their future, set meaningful goals, and create practical action plans to move forward. EmpwrU will offer 24/7 access to digital support, including an AI coach, providing encouragement, structure, and guidance to help stay focused and take action over time.
